Come enjoy our “Play K” story time one Thursday evening each month practice and build skills for kindergarten. These story times will mimic circle time at school, so kids entering kindergarten can practice skills like sitting still and raising their hand in a positive and playful environment.

Each month will feature a different themed play and learn center, called a playscape, with materials like books and interactive toys for more play-based learning. The playscapes will also be available throughout the month for kids and their adults during regular library hours.

Play K, short for Playing Kindergarten, is designed to boost preschoolers’ skills in eight domains of Pennsylvania’s Learning Standards for Early Childhood and to practice four critical skill sets needed for success in school: physical coordination, language proficiency, self-concept and social development.
